Hey, I’m Farias
I'm a designer and developer. I've been doing both since 2012, which means I can take a brand from the first sketch to a site that's live, fast and looked after, without handing it to someone else halfway.
Eleven of the last fourteen years I've worked for myself, and that's where nearly everything on this site came from. The other three were spent inside agencies in Maputo, building for banks, telecoms and government.
I did three years of computer science at university. The rest I taught myself, starting with Photoshop before my first job and never really stopping.
I'm based in Mozambique. My working day overlaps the full European one, I'm open to relocating for the right role, and I'm available for full-time remote work or contract.

Founder, designer and developer
My own studio, co-owned with my business partner. Client work in care, property and fintech, most of it in Ireland: the CareSpaces Ireland website and its property-listings portal, the most recent of it delivered in May 2026, branding and campaign work for Mo Chroí Care, a logo and app icon for the savings app Evergain, and ad and editorial design for MyWallSt, a fintech publisher in Dublin.
Alongside that, ventures of my own. Independent Care Directory, Caia Care Studio and Cemento all started here, as did a tool that turns a project's images and video into an animated showreel and exports it out, my first real work with Three.js.

Freelance
Brand and web work for clients at home and abroad. Some of the work from those years: a VR tour of the Cahora Bassa hydroelectric dam in 2019, built on InstaVR and well outside my usual territory. Site work for Hub Criativo do Beato in Lisbon, now the Beato Innovation District, and two projects with Ralph Brinker, a design system consultant then based in Portugal, both in 2020.
A site for Isálcio Mahanjane Advogado e Associados, a law firm, in 2021. A company directory for IPEME, the Mozambican state small-business agency, built with Cortex Moçambique and Cursors Informatics as a web and mobile app, in 2021–2022. And from 2022 the nJOBS platform for Cursors Informatics, which they still call me back for.

Web Developer
Full-stack build work and internal applications for the agency's clients, among them DStv, BCI Moçambique, Tmcel and the Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development. Mostly campaign frontends, where the work had to hold up in front of a national audience.

2013 – 2016
Freelance
Some of the work from those years: an interactive web app for the Department of Physiological Sciences at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane's medical faculty, simulating laboratory classes through animation, built in stages between 2013 and 2015.
Site work for Grupo Entreposto, and in 2016 for Laurentina. Both came through agencies: Brand Lovers hiring me back after I'd left, and GOLO taking me on as a freelancer months before hiring me properly.

My first job. Designed, built and maintained websites for Mozambican brands, Clinicare and the Azgo Festival among them. Design in Photoshop, build mostly in WordPress, and every so often an animated ad in Flash for the digital billboards around the city.
I learned most of it as I went, from the internet and from a developer working remotely from Portugal.

A lot of the work here started because I wanted to build it, not because anyone asked. Cemento is on the site even though I closed it down. That decision taught me more than the launch did.
